Wondering if you have the right environment for this type of palm?

Don’t hesitate to contact us for personal advice and check out the conditions in which the Kentia Palm will thrive, below…

☀️ Light

Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions, thriving in filtered sunlight yet can adapt to some shade. A location with direct sunlight should be avoided as full sun will scorch the leaves.

💧 Water

Likes to be watered thoroughly while ensuring that excess water drains from the pot and soil is not water-logged. Over-watering can lead to root rot, so it's crucial to maintain a balance and let the top inch of the soil dry out before next watering. Reduce frequency in winter as the plant's growth slows down.

🌱 Soil

Favors well-draining soil that retains moisture but allows excess water to escape. A mix containing peat, perlite and pine bark works well. When kept it in pots, repot every 2-3 years or when the roots outgrow the container.

🌡️ Climate

Thrives in warm and humid conditions with preferred temperatures between 18-27°C. Protect accordingly when living in colder climates as they don't tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 10°C.

💪🏻 Feed

Appreciates a balanced liquid fertiliser in spring and summer. It is recommended to dilute the fertiliser to half the recommended strength to avoid over-fertilizing. Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter as plant is not actively growing.

🌸 Foliage

Produces lush green foliage that appreciates regular cleaning with a damp cloth to remove dust when kept indoors. Trim brown or yellowing fronds at the base using clean pruning shears. This helps maintain the plant's aesthetic and promotes healthy growth.
