☀️ Light
Prefers a location that receives dappled or filtered sunlight. While it can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning or late afternoon, prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can scorch the leaves.
💧 Water
Likes the soil consistently moist but not water-logged. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. In hot weather, they may need more frequent watering.
🌱 Soil
Favors well-draining, slightly acidic soil. A mix of garden soil and organic matter like compost or peat moss works well. Mulching around the base helps retain moisture and regulates soil temperature.
🌡️ Climate
Thrives in temperate climates and generally preferring cooler temperatures but can tolerate a range. Protect the tree from harsh winds, especially in colder climates, as the delicate foliage may suffer from windburn.
💪🏻 Feed
Appreciates a balanced, slow-release fertiliser or one specifically formulated for acid-loving plants in the spring before new growth appears but avoid excessive use of high-nitrogen fertilizers, as it can promote weak growth.
🌸 Foliage
In spring, new leaves emerge in vibrant colors, transitioning to a lush green in summer while in fall the leaves turn brilliant shades of red, orange, or yellow.
