Wondering if you have the right environment for this flowering plant?
Don’t hesitate to contact us for personal advice and check out the conditions in which the Hibiscus will thrive, below…
☀️ Light
Thrives in warm and sunny climates with an abundance of direct sunlight. While hibiscus can tolerate partial shade, 6-8 hours of full sun encourages prolific flowering and overall plant vitality.
💧 Water
Likes consistently moist but not waterlogged soil. Deep water when the top inch of soil feels dry and water more frequently during hotter periods.
🌱 Soil
Favors well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. While a slightly acidic to neutral soil pH is preferred, good drainage is most crucial for the plant's health.
🌡️ Climate
Thrives in warm and tropical climates with temperatures between 15°C to 32°C. As it is not frost-tolerant it needs to be protected during the winter. Consider growing Hibiscus in containers so they can be brought indoors when necessary.
💪🏻 Feed
Feed regularly during spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser that contains a higher phosphorus content to encourage blooming. Follow the recommended dosage on fertiliser package and reduce feeding in fall and winter when plant is less active.
🌸 Flowers
Continuously produces new blooms of large, trumpet-shaped blossoms in a myriad of colors, including shades of red, pink, orange, yellow, and even white that last for a day. Deadheading spent flowers regularly encourages more flowering.
