☀️ Light
Plant in full sun for optimal growth and fruit production where it receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
💧 Water
Maintain a consistent watering routine and water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Increase watering during periods of extended heat or drought, and reduce water in the dormant season. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogged conditions, as citrus trees are sensitive to overly wet soil.
🌱 Soil
Prefers well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil. A loamy soil enriched with organic matter is ideal. If cultivating in containers, use a high-quality potting mix designed for citrus plants. Regularly monitor soil pH, aiming for a range of 6.0 to 7.0.
🌡️ Climate
Thrives in subtropical to tropical climates but can tolerate occasional mild frosts. Freezing temperatures can damage foliage and fruit so protect accordingly in colder months to ensure survival.
💪🏻 Feed
Fertilise regularly with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer formulated for citrus plants during spring and summer. Apply every 4-6 weeks, following the recommended dosage on the product label. Reduce feeding in fall and winter when the tree is less active.
🌸 Flowers & Fruit
Produces fragrant white flowers in spring that develop into clusters of lemons by late summer to fall. The medium-sized, yellow lemons have a smooth, thin skin with a high juice content and a tart flavor.
